Paper rocket 

On Monday we did an experiment about straw rockets.

 

First we were given a tray full of stuff to make a straw rocket. In the tray were a paper rocket, some scissors , some tape and a little bit of paper to roll up.

Next we cut up the paper rocket out and taped to rolled up bit of paper to the rocket and put the straw inside the rolled up paper but we had a problem if we put the straw in it would fall out because there was nothing at the top of the rolled paper we had a to find a bit of paper and stick that to the top so we did 

Finally we got to the end and we were ready for take off. 3! 2! 1! BOOM! One of my teammates blowed of the straw and it went flying in the air put on the way back down it had a bad touch down the paper folded the end.

On Monday we did an  experiment about parachutes. First, we had to get into a group of four and we were given a tray full of the materials we would need to make a  parachute. In the tray we were given two sized papers, one was small, the other one was a big one and there was tape  and a string. Then we had to tape a bit of string to each side of the paper Finally, we had to tape the top of all the strings and drop test it from the top of the chair. The bigger paper landed more slowly.

On Monday a very cool scientist called Nano Girl came to our

school and I was one of the special kids that was going to get recorded and got to help do some experiments. 

 

The first experiment was Nano Girl putting bubbles on her hand and lighting it on fire. She first had to dip her hand in a bubble mixture and then she got a BBQ lighter and BOOM! her hand is on fire but the fire only lasted around 3 seconds. 

 

Moving onto the next experiment the air canon hand is on fire but the fire only lasted around 3 seconds. Moving on to the next experiment, the air cannon. For the first try we used the little cannon. 

 

I put a plastic cup on my head and I had my mate David w shoot me with the air cannon. He missed the first 3 shots but on the 4th shot he knocked the cup off my head and the crowd went wild! 

 

Onto the bigger air cannon it was actually an old barrel but they turned it into a cannon. But this time there was no cup on my head instead we put smoke in the cannon with a smoke machine.

So we filled it with smoke and then we launched it. It made a smoke ring but some little kids were putting their hands up and breaking the ring so our teacher went and talked to her and she

 

 

stopped so we did one more ring and it went all the way to the end of the hall and again the crowd went wild .

 

 later in the day we had genesis energy come into our class and talk about power and energy. They showed us how power gets from house to house then we did an experiment. 

 

First we used a string and some paper clips. Next we had all of us get in a  straight line and hold the string and our teacher put the paper clips on and we had to find a way to make the paper clips go to the end of the string and if one of us let go we had to say power cut and start again after some power cut we did it.

 

 but we had to  go to a table and hold a gift box full of power books and energy books.

 

 Then we got some photos and videos of us holding the books and they lived happily after. The end
